Defining and designing industrial solutions for the Infant Nutrition and Health Care businesses
Challenges: outdated setups, incomplete integration in the business strategy, lack of mater plan, continuous running operations.
- Design of workable and cost efficient investment solutions, allowing to improve the business profitability
- Upgrading and expanding setups while maintaining the supply

- Creating new dynamics within the workforce
Results : (Creully, 2005) - Avoidance of factory closure. Approval for an 13 mio EUR investment in a new line and factory upgrade. Improvement of the operational efficiency by 7% / (Konolfingen, 2006-2012) - Adjustment of the global Infant Formulae industrial strategy. Investment of 308 mio CHF over 5 years, doubling the supply volumes, recruiting 340 employees, tripling the capacities, roll-out of TPM - six sigma / (Boué, 2018-2020) - Staged investment of 80 mio EUR offering flexibility to match demand growth (ultimately +50% capacity) while maintaining the employment, 12% reduction of the conversion cost, roll-out of TPM - six sigma.
Erecting, commissioning and running the first biotechnological plant of the Nestlé group in Konolfingen (2006-2008)
Challenges: Limited industrial experience, new drying technologies, hygiene requirements.
- Development of a biohazard risk management solution
- Selective recruitment integrating a knowledge development program
Results : 68 mio CHF investment. Trust in the internal solution (insourcing of 90% of the volumes requirement over 3 years).
Management of industrialisations and R&D projects at Nestlé Milkpak, PTC Konolfingen and Nestlé Nutrition (2017)
Challenges: Practicality of the idea. Ease in the industrialisation.
Results : (Lahore, 1999-2000) - Designing and building the first 5 gallons line matching the PureLife proprietary technology / (Konolfingen, 2006) - Identification of the process characteristics to improve the nutritional quality and product characteristics for super-premium Infant Formulae.
Consolidation of agile structures to reduce structural costs within the Swiss market of Nestlé (2004)
Challenges: Inertia linked to complacency. Urgency for the implementation. Media risk.
- Identification and validation of organisational improvement potentials
- Outsourcing of some IS/IT functions
Results: Reduction of 54 FTE achieved through early retirements and outplacements. 8 mio CHF annual savings.
